The Artful Nature of the World Around Us

Southwestern Missouri decided to be nice to us today. With Spring coming into full swing, it is getting me very excited about all of the adventures I will be taking around my area and beyond. While one of my favorite subjects to talk about is art, I also want to share with all of you the explorations that I take beyond just the art world. The thing is, to me, the whole world is art. The Earth is where many of us have derived inspiration from since the dawn of time and there is simply nothing that can counter it. I want to make sure I embrace that in my own life and also in my posts here on this blog.

As I begin to involve more adventures in the great outdoors, I want to show all of you how to find beauty in the little things. I love to carry my sketchbook with me at almost all times, so I would love to share my nature drawings and photos of my inspiration.

A little more about me! I am a Midwestern girl who grew up in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. When starting my academic career, I moved to Southwestern Missouri to a town that felt much more rural than what I was used to but still had the population to constitute as a city. Living here, I have more access to beautiful parks, hiking areas, lakes and rivers and I have tried to take advantage of it while I can. I don’t plan to stay here forever, so in the time I have left, I want to make the most out of this beautiful landscape. Even after I move somewhere else in the United States, I want to be able to happily enjoy the little things around me wherever I am. I hope you choose to join me on this journey and discover the art that the world has painted for us.

What is the most beautiful place you have ever visited?

Many of my adventures I will be documenting will surely be spent with my number one supporter and love! Here are Michael and I on our first little adventure around a nearby lake in our downtime.
